The children’s ministry of Beavercreek Baptist Church, aims to help the children and families of our community to take their next step of obedience toward Christ. These are the steps through which we try to lead them:
RELATIONSHIP BUILDING—The first step for many children and their families is simply to spend time with God’s people. So we frequently have events and activities as a children’s ministry that are designed for families to start and strengthen relationships with the people of our church. These include Parent Night Outs, an annual fall party, the Awana Grand Prix, etc. (In the Fall we host a Fall Festival with games, food and prizes. To see the video of the 2009 Fall Festival. VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL—Perhaps the largest program we have to help build relationships between families and our church is VBS each summer. This week-long fun-filled time is a great opportunity for children to learn the basics about the gospel, make new friends, and have a great time! Coming July 17, 2011 our next VBS theme will be "Big Apple Adventure".
AWANA—Once your family is familiar with who we are, we encourage you to take the next step: becoming involved on a more regular basis. And Awana provides that opportunity! Awana meets on Sunday nights during the school year. During Awana, children 3 years old through those in 5th grade are divided into three clubs (Cubbies, Sparks, and T&T). Children in these different clubs learn about the Bible, memorize verses, play games, and learn how to apply God’s Word to their lives. To learn more about Awana, click here. SUNDAY SCHOOL—The next step that children could greatly benefit from is to become part of a Sunday School class. Sunday mornings from 9:15-10:15 AM, we have age-graded classes for babies through fifth grade. These classes are designed to be more focused and help children apply the Bible to their lives. FAMILY WORSHIP—Finally, as much as we may try to help train up children here at BBC, it is absolutely vital that parents take the reins of discipling their children in the home as well. We are currently working toward better equipping parents for this important task.
