September 12th @ 5:00-6:30 PM--First Night of Club
--------------------------------------------
GENERAL INFORMATION:
Awana is BBC's greatest program for teaching children to be more like Jesus. It's an exciting high-energy biblically-focused program that can make a huge impact in the lives of children and their families! Awana's highest goal is to teach children the gospel and partner with parents as they teach them how to live in a godly way.
Our clubs meet on Sunday nights at the church building from 5:00-6:30 PM. There are three different clubs based on children's age. Cubbies is our club that is geared toward children ages 3-5. Sparks is the next step up, being designed for children from Kindergarten through second grade. Finally, T&T (Truth and Training) is our club for children in grades three through five. Each club is led and supervised by godly, mature, trained, and background-checked adults who love helping children grow in their faith.

What's "Awana" mean? The name "Awana" is actually an acronym that stand for "Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed." This is based off 2 Timothy 2:15.
What to expect on an average night: On any given Sunday night, each club will be part of an opening ceremony and then the rest of their evening will be divided up between Teaching, Game, and Handbook time. As part of Awana, we really strive to make learning fun, while teaching children that godliness comes with work as well. The Teaching time is an opportunity for children to hear a practical lesson from God's Word. Game time provides them with an opportunity to burn off steam and learn important lessons about teamwork and encouragement. And Handbook time is probably the most unique aspect of Awana. Each child will have a handbook they work through with their parents at home. This handbook will get them to read, memorize, and internalize God's Word! When they are here at club, they have the opportunity each week to share with an Awana leader what they have been studying and learning at home.
What to expect in the big picture: As part of Awana, we also have frequent fun events and activities. We have theme nights every few weeks just for fun (Crazy Hair Night, Backwards Night, etc.). We have annual Fall and Christmas parties. We even have an Awana store periodically--giving children an opportunity to receive tangible rewards for their hard work. In addition to using the Awana store as a reward, we also give children more frequent "jewels," "pins," and "patches" as they complete sections of their book!
