Journey, the youth ministry of Beavercreek Baptist Church, aims to help the students and families of our community become faithful, devoted, and impactful Christ followers. We are on a journey together following after the life and example of Christ.  Will you join us?

"If anyone wants to be my follower, he must deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me." Mark 8:34

Here At BBC we recognize that a student's parents/guardians are the most influential person in their life.  We don't want to try to accomplish the monumental task of helping our students become more like Christ on our own.  That is why a main goal of Journey is to help equip parents to be the Godly leader their student needs.  Ultimately the decision to follow Christ is a choice every one of us has to make on our own, but at BBC we are here to help along the journey.

At Journey we seek to develop students spiritualy in three different but connected ways.
These ways can be summed up by the word KNOWN.

  1. KNOW- We want every student and parent to know God through a personal relationship with Jesus.
  2. OWN-  We want students to own their faith by learning how to be a faithful follower of Christ.
  3. KNOWN- We want students to make their faith known to others by living a life of love and service just as Christ did.

These are the steps we implement to lead students and their families through:

GROUP BUILDING—The first step we help students to take is simply to spend time with God’s people. So we frequently have events and activities as a youth group which are designed to help start—and strengthen—relationships among students. These could be anything from an amusement park trip to bowling, concerts, or pool parties.

JOURNEY RALLY—The next step we help students to take is to commit to be part of our weekly youth group get-together Journey rally.  We meet at 6:30 every Wednesday night at the church for snacks, games, worship, and good discussion. We will provide students with the opportunity to hear the gospel, see how it impacts their lives on a practical level, and have a good time with other believers their age as they learn to care about each other.

SUNDAY SCHOOL—The next step we help students to take is to be part of more intensive Bible study. Sunday mornings we have classes that really dive deeper into the study of God’s Word. Our hope is that this learning will take place among families during the week as well!

SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES—Finally, an important step we help students to take is to invest their time in service opportunities. Christians are called to serve others, and we take this call seriously. So we give our students and their families many opportunities to serve (an annual week-long mission trip in the summer, the summer car show, VBS, AWANA, and ongoing opportunities to serve in various ministries here at BBC).
